Of course you'll need to gather other resources to make more things, but those are the main ones, especially to build shelter and clothing.
This will activate the gnome cheat, so you can access you other cheats. We have no unlockables for The Sims 2: Castaway yet. If you have any unlockables please submit them. We have no easter eggs for The Sims 2: Castaway yet. We have no glitches for The Sims 2: Castaway yet. Harvest everything in the area — especially Sisal as you need this to make Rope and Twine. When you've finished, locate the grassy trail with the Silver Feet above it.
It should be just about perfectly opposite the Skull Face. Take this trail to the West River Plains. New Shelters and Farming Tools are also unlocked. I found my 2nd crewmate here. Get Chicken Feathers from the ground when a chicken runs off. The first time you collect the feathers new clothing plans are unlocked.
Build a Chicken Trap and Trap a chicken. It may take a while after you've set the trap to actually trap one. You just have to keep trying. I would trap more than one so you can use one to eat and use one to harvest eggs.
You will be able to build a chicken coop later on and harvest the eggs from it. There are a lot of new fruits here. When you're ready to move on to the next area you have 2 choices: craft a bridge or climb. If you wish to climb — go to the Silver Feet to your right and climb done.
This takes a lot of energy away from you though. If you wish to craft a bridge then go to the Silver Feet on your left. Approach the stones and select Craft Bridge. Crafting the bridge builds your Mechanical level and requires less energy to cross. This is the route I take. If you don't have rope yet, build a Crafting Bench and craft some here so you don't have to return to the beach.
There's Sisal in this area too if you need it. Note you cannot cross here yet due to the quicksand. Face the pillars then look left just past the Sisal plant. It's your 6th Hieroglyphic piece. Grab it. In this area you will meet a Wild Boar. Follow him or stand in his way and he will fight you. If you win you get plans for Boar clothes and a scarecrow unlocked, the Hunt a Boar goal completed, and a big fat ham to eat!
Cut away the vines then walk a step or 2 forward until you see the Transmitter. Put it in your inventory. Proceed straight past the plane to the small shoreline, take 1 step into the water and look to your left. You will see your 7th Hieroglyphic piece lying in the water. Now look back along the shoreline to your right. You will see the Princess Loofalava statue on the other end of the beach. Go pick it up. Head back to the plane and take the path to the right with the Silver Feet.
This leads to East Beach. Harvest all you can from this area then head on to East Beach. You have also unlocked new plans for Home Decorations and Musical Instruments.
This is also where I found my final crewmate. Go to the far right side of the beach where you see what looks like a pile of sand and pick up all of the Stones. If you have a hammer and chisel you can harvest the Pumice sand pile now. If not either craft a bench and make the tools or just come back later to get it. Once you've harvested all you can from the beach, inspect either of the stone pillars.
It gives you a new goal of getting to the volcano and unlocks plans for a canoe. When able, craft the canoe, rest up, and then head for the Volcano. Your crewmates will automatically follow so don't worry about them. New shelter plans are unlocked and you receive the Biscuit Isle book with new goals. Go to the far right side of the island and look behind small boulder with the pink and yellow flowers in front of it. There you will find the 4th and final statue — the Queen Loofalava statue.
This completes the "Find the 4 Statues" goal. It would be a good idea to go ahead and build a small shelter, beds, fire pit, and home tiki here so your crewmates can maintain themselves and not die. If a crewmate does die go to their grave it will look like a rock and mourn. Once you do that you will be able to pick the Death Daisy.
Harvest all you can from here then explore up the hill to Volcano Jungle. Circle around the path until you see the beehives, then focus on the small ledge behind them. There's a hot spring there. Climb the small hill that leads to the ledge and head towards the hot spring. About halfway there on your left is your 8th Hieroglyphic piece. Once you have that, go get into the hot spring. You will find a piece to the Treasure Map. Get out of the hot spring. You've now completed the "Find the Hot Spring" goal.
Harvest everything in this area including the Honeycomb from the beehive. To do this you must have the Torch. This will allow you to first Smoke Out the bees. If you don't you will only get stung and no honeycomb! Once you are through continue on to the Geyser Plains. Just to the left on the ground is the final Hieroglyphic piece. The Hieroglyphic Stele plan is now unlocked. When these are later forged together they fit inside the rectangular space you see on the door and a new path opens.
Once you've finished harvesting everything in the area head to the cliff by the steam geysers and Silver Feet. You will notice you cannot yet pass here. Just to the right of the Silver Feet is a small path leading up a small hill with a large boulder on top. Approach the boulder and choose "Inspect. If not, go craft it. Your Sim will chisel the rock so it falls below to cover the geyser so you can pass. Now head back down to the feet and you will see you can now pass.
Rest up then head to Volcano Overlook. It's the largest area in the game where you have room to build the largest house the Bungalow Mansion. It also has a lot of area for planting a garden, building a chicken coop, and a lot of foot to harvest.
A tropical vacation isn't as enjoyable when, say, it's spent as a cruise ship castaway. Indeed, there are only sun-baked beaches and dried-up coconuts in The Sims 2 Castaway , the survival spin-off that puts the life of a Sim in your hands. Before setting out on the seven seas, Castaway prompts you to create your Sim. Man or woman, they embark on a cruise that ends up with them overboard and swimming for their life to the nearest island, where you're forced to help them survive with just the clothes on their back.
Survival dictates meeting basic needs in terms of food, clothing, and shelter. Accordingly, Castaway denotes six factors which must be managed at all times: hunger, energy, comfort, social, hygiene and bladder. When first arrived on the island, fulfilling these can be quite challenging. Finding food is most difficult, which means your energy is often zapped.
Our first few days consisted of foraging for any edible items we could find, building a fire and a shelter the latter by collecting wood and palm leaves and then combining them in one of the many inventory menus. Exploring the island was limited by what little energy we had left. I suggest doing the tutorial even if you have played other sims games before.
Portals As you look around the area you may see a set of feet hovering in the air or come across an action menu that says "Explore". This is a portal to a new area. First Beach has only one portal but as you progress other areas may have 2,3, or 4 portals.
Tools It is a good idea to craft as many tools as possible, as early as you can in the game. There are points that you will not be able to advance beyond in the game without specific tools or items created with specific tools.
Cleaning Up Easy way to clean up plates is to run into the ocean. Go out far enough and the plates disappear. Or toss them in the fire. Inventory Built Items Many of the things that you build, for example work benches, stoves, etc, can all be placed in back in your inventory in case you would like to take them with you to another location. Enter Grab mode at the bottom of the Plans menu.
Then select the item, hit the square button, and it will bring up a menu where you can either delete the item or put it in your inventory.
Shelter Resources Plans for the different shelters require alot of resources to be in your inventory, especially later in the game. However, you don't have to use the preset plans for that paticular structure They give you options as to what size you want which can realy save on wood. Build the roof first since it will shelter you other objects from the rain and then you can go back and put up walls, windows, and doors whenever you get enough materials. Walk up to them to trigger the "Build" option.
You will use the workbench to "craft" various tools and items so remember its location. Some must be done to progress through the game. However, not all goals have to be done to complete the ultimate goal of escaping the island. Therefore I will only explain the goals that require more then just common sense to fulfill. Head to a beach. Walk in water where fish are swimming and select "Spear fish". Then go to your firepit or stove. Select "Cook Meal" and press R trigger to scroll the menu until you see the fish.
The trick to fishing with a spear is to wait until you see a little fish jump up out of the water and then you tap X to spear fish. It's a timing thing. The trick to fishing with the pole is to wait for the red thing to plunge down in the water, then tap x.
Another timing thing. Take radio out of inventory, set down and then turn it on. Scroll up on radio menu and you should see repair transmitter. Select the SOS option from the menu. When you see cook meal action hit up on d-pad and scroll to the very top of the list. Raft must be crafted there. Then place the trap where you find feathers. Leave it there for a day or so and come to check it.
You don't always catch a chicken right away so keep trying. Stand in front of it with spear in hand and it should attack you. A bubble appears above your head right before the attack.
