If nothing else, mods complicate recovery of corrupt files and really complicates "factory reset" which completely refreshes your game files and takes only minutes to do after the first reset.
Again, go to Carl's site. I think it is Carl's Sims 4 now, but, the Sims 3 information is definitely still available. Originally posted by Wai :. Last edited by HiFive ; 7 Jan am. Lol corrupt saves were not extremely rare, this is a bald faced lie, posts abounded about them and the serious lag and crash issues, and these issues I experienced without any CC or Nraas mods, avoiding the "quirks" which is translated as avoiding substantial gameplay, playing "Vanilla from Release with almost 0 DLC", so no.
Advising people not play this game with Nraas mods is disingenuous at best, and simply wrong, to each their own my eye, if you do not use them your game runs like crap, quit telling people otherwise. You are simply another Anti Mod gamer, or you are laboring a grudge.
You had issues, you know it, I know it, everyone had some issues and many were serious, try this with someone who hasn't played this game for a Decade and read Forums, for a Decade on the subject, I can see right through this.
There is nothing wrong with using Nraas mods in Sims 3, there is absolutely Zero downside to using them in this game, period, and no one advising against doing so has any Integrity, none of your guides for playing without them will end in anything but frustration, playing with them almost virtually eliminates any need for your "recovery guide", I see what your angle is here, selling your own product.
Again since release, tried all other methods you will declare, they fail, and spare me, I knew what I was doing, been gaming since Pong on every system ever built, since the , I have as much or more background in this topic as you do. So you couldn't let this topic go and have now outed yourself, anyone listening to this poster and following their advice is on the road to Sims 3 Ruin, use Nraas or not it is your choice, if you don't your game will run like hot garbage and suck, they know no more than I do about Sims 3 and in fact know less, that is obvious.
Or What is your issue with Twallen? Is Nraas perfect? If you don't use them have fun using "recovery guides", I don't have to. Last edited by pappysshoes ; 7 Jan am. I am sorry, I do not know this. Last time I had a corrupt file was at least 7 years ago before I upgraded my graphics card. I play, and, I play a lot, Being retired I have lots of time with up to 9 extensions and lots of official down load files. I would call that rare, but, perhaps you have a different definition.
I would not comment about any particular mod as I know only that I have helped out too many players, when I was active on a certain Sims 3 forum, because their downloaded mods had caused problems. Maybe not the mod you swear by, I do not recall, but mods can and do cause problems.
And, they are not needed for Sims 3, at least, not if your computer is adequate and all modern PC's should be more than adequate. My opinion, use mods, if you must, but remember they are 3rd party content and not all mods are safe. Applies to all PC applications. I am very sorry you seem to have had so many problems.
I cannot help but speculate the reason. Nobody should push third party content in the way you choose to do, that is most definitely risky. Unlike you who knows so much you even know the mind of others on this forum, I am not saying that it is all bad, or that I know everything. I only say what I do know:- If your computer is adequate and your graphics card is adequate, then you should not have any significant problems with running Sims 3.
Be careful about saving and don't use "Save and Exit". Even on my original computer, for the sims 3, this game never run like a pig, but, I did have to note past tense do regular factory resets. Let me "Out" myself as you put it. I have more than 50 year experience as a software engineer and IT instructor - now retired.
And I freely admit, I never, would never use 3rd party content. Do you really think I would have played the Sims for 20 years and am still playing regularly if the game gave even a tiny fraction of the trouble you predict? Pigs might fly! Now, I return to my very busy Sim Family. According to Carl's age data in SimPE, he had 29 days left in the adult life stage when he died.
He uses the 1st Maxis face template in Create a Sim , except the nose is smaller, and the lips are thicker. In Carl's character file, he is named Bob. He was probably originally meant to be named Bob, but was renamed to Carl. He has no wants but he does have fears. This means that if Carl is made playable, his aspiration level will only go down, not up. His broken wants slot can be fixed with a Sim Modder. The Sims Wiki Explore.
