Original HPC: 2. Variable assignment to programs or registers. Registers are also needed for the complex stack, the solver and numerical integration.
Permanent memory. Limited Edition CPU. The small 6-pin serial connector on the back of the HPC Limit Edition see picture above looks suspiciously like the one found on the HPb. Full support for complex numbers. Matrix operations. What does AC stand for on my calculator? AC stands for 'all clear'.
You clear the entire memory of the calculator with this button. What is the weight of the HP 15c? The HP 15c has a weight of g. What is the height of the HP 15c? The HP 15c has a height of 80 mm. What is the width of the HP 15c? Matrices were dimensioned with the DIM command. To store the elements in the matrix, the user could specify where to put each element explicitly by adjusting R0 row and R1 column and then STO B or the user could put the keyboard in "user" mode, which caused the row and column indicators to automatically update left to right and top to bottom on successive STOs.
The calculator would briefly display the row and column just stored. Matrix elements could be recalled in similar fashions but there was also a stack-based shortcut. The user could enter the row and column in the X and Y registers and then press RCL g and the matrix name. Up to 64 matrix elements could exist in the calculator.
These could be shared among the matrices as the user required. Many matrix functions were included such as determinants, inverse, LU decomposition, as well as typical matrix math functions. Due to their continued popularity secondhand HPC books are often available from Amazon, ebay and other outlets. Fabulous manual continuing on from the Owner's Handbook and covering in considerable depth: using Solve effectively, working with Integrate, calculating in complex mode, using Matrix operations and accuracy of numerical calculations.
Covers memory organisation, decisions and branching, indirect addressing, sample program development, trigonometry and vectors, flags, complex mode, Solve and Integrate, Matices and Statistical functions.
